I don't know the magic of this picture, but it has. The golden parts, the heartbreaking colours, the wild brush lines...
I had a heavy heart, when I started to paint this, I started with the greys and blacks. But I missed first the colours, where I begun to feel a hope, that it will be okay, and then could not rest without having my fight with the gold-leafing, which is still challenging for me. When I use the - yet not real - gold on a picture, my mind stops, the world ends, I feel that I focus like a surgeon :D And it is always a thing like a transcendental or metaphysical moment, to see or to touch the golden parts of these pictures.
And as it not real, 24 carat gold, it will turn slowly-slowly brown and will age with you, and only you will know the change.
